Beach Volleyball

Nature - Beach

Beach volleyball is a sport in which people use brooms to hit a ball back and forth across a net trying to score, by making the other team unable to volley it back over. There are three people on each side and each has a position of a gruler, a fraker or a dreyer and each must stay in their position or the team will be penalized. If any player kicks the ball or touches it with their foot they are automatically disqualified, along with holding or punching the ball. The team with fifty- four points wins the game. This sport comes from a small island called Catalina off the shore of England in the Atlantic Ocean. It was first formed by a group of teenage boys that wanted to get out of football practice and one day decided to put up a badminton net and started throwing a basketball over it. It is only played there because they have the only sand that the ball is allowed to rest on. People go from all over the world to play a game there, to get the real experience. Once the sand can be imported, the sport will spread and be able to be played by anybody. Beach volleyball has come a long way since then, in that, they now have a higher net and a softer ball to hit.
